Israel Maweta joins Prof. John Collins, Others for Borborbor Symposium at University of Ghana

Celebrated Ghanaian Traditional Musician, Israel Maweta, has been named one of the key Panelists to join renowned Musicologist/Lecturer, Professor John Collins, at a Borborbor Symposium on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the University of Ghana, Legon. Starting from 9:30am through to 3:00pm, the theme set for the gathering is “Innovation and General Changes in Borborbor Dance-Drumming of The Ghanaian Ewe Youth”. Venue is Kwabena Nketia Conference Hall, Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, Legon campus. The event is a collaboration between The Department of Music School of Performing Arts College of Humanities and The Camegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program.
