Konkarah Jahvybz, the 2023 Ghana Music Awards Nominee for "Best Reggae/Dancehall Song Of The Year" returns with a plate full of varied meals in melody and lyrics captured in a new album he titles “From Afar”. He employs other collaborators for the album with iconic names like Anthony B, Suezway, Osagyefo, Topgyal Renner, Ras Charmer, others. The 15-tracked Album tables conversations from Consciousness, Repatriation, Lovers’ Rock, Sex, Sound System Culture, Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hiphop (Rap), RnB, Dancehall, Reggae Roots to Urban Reggae styles. This strategy Konkarah Jahvybz used was a ploy to cut across different spheres of the music market to make sure he reaches varied audiences. As the rave scene in West Africa continues to grow, AFRO WAVE emerges as the perfect anthem for this vibrant movement. The single, a collaboration between South Africa’s Scorpion Kings (Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa) and the legendary Oskido, features powerful vocals from Tman Xpress and Phila Dloz, along with the iconic Brazilian Bloc-Afro band Olodum. Together, they blend Afrohouse with Amapiano beats and isiZulu lyrics, creating a sound that is both innovative and deeply rooted in African traditions. AFRO WAVE is the first single off the forthcoming ONE DRUM EP. The EP is produced by legendary producers Oskido and Commissioner Gordon.
