Real State Of Unheard Music Address – Mixtic Writes

Dear His Excellency Mr President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo,

LETTER FROM THE UNHEARD ARTISTES

I humbly wish to use this medium to congratulate you on a successful state of the nation address, your vision is very bright and your wisdom is highly appreciated. It was great hearing you mention your plans for creative arts by trying hard to push through the bill which can help your government create a fund that can allow creative art ministry assess some Money to help improve the industry. Kudos to this, but sir! if this goes through I am wondering who are going to be the beneficiaries because there are some issues bordering me with regard to the unheard artistes in our country.

In recent days couple of unheard artistes were mad about Musiga’s inability to bay them some benefits even though they are registered, also the Musicians Union of Ghana is failing to create strategic systems and policies that can protect, develop and expose the hidden talents into the limelight. Jay Foley an individual and his Team are trying hard to create a system like LogonRadio to help these unheard artistes in a quest of being famous and noticed.

The Media, its sad a lot of traditional radios, prints and television stations charge very high fees from artistes for airtime to get some airplay or a featured article or news that can help promote these artistes this is causing the to look for other hard and highly competitive options like the internet , websites, social media and online radio to try and get some push. The saddest part of this point is foreign songs are aired And featured on this traditional mediums for free in the name of attracting listeners, its business and we must make profits from adverts so we can run effectively. You mean you can’t do this without supporting talented Ghanaian unheard artistes? Anyway LogonRadio and the Ulist show by Jay Foley and Lensradio Ghana respectively can bridge this challenge if we can asess the creative arts funds.

I can’t end this Sir without speaking on investment, Music is a very expensive business considering monies spent From production through promotion until distribution isn’t easy at all but majority of record labels only want to associate with mostly established brands and only take lots of these unheard artistes on apprenticeship without benefits or pay until they get a lucky hit or they are left hanging till they get fed up and depart. If there would be any fund then the ministry can strengthen the art’s financial structures so businesses like 2131 omnis  and Pizarea would get incentives to help them continue all efforts they have began in supporting The Unheard.
