Has Shatta Wale been lying about his age all this while?

Has Shatta Wale been lying about his age all this while?

Mr. Charles Nii Amarh Mensah, father of Ghana’s self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale, went haywire this afternoon in the studios of an Accra-based radio station.

Mr. Mensah, popular called Shatta Capo, had stormed the studios to rain “fire” on some fake prophets who are predicting death for his superstar son, Shatta Wale.

In so doing, Mr. Mensah revealed some information and facts about his son, and there appears to be some sort of confusion somewhere.

For instance, he was quoted as saying his son, Charles Nii Amarh Mensah Jnr.’s birthday is October 17, 1982.

But checks by YEN.com.gh reveals that Shatta Wale’s birthday had always been quoted as October 17, 1984, on Wikipedia.

Therefore, as it stands now, Ghanaians don’t know which of the two dates to accept as Shatta’s real date of birth.

Many social media users are also confused about this interesting development and are wondering what Shatta Wale’s real age could actually be.

For instance, YEN.com.gh sighted a post on the Facebook Wall of Kofi Prince concerning this matter.

When [did] musicians start using their music age?” Kofi quizzed.

His post is in line with the fact that most African players reduce their ages so as to qualify to play for a longer time than normal.

However, the point remains that Wale’s parents are the best people to tell how old their son is, so the dad’s date is likely to win the debate.

Per the father's date, Wale will turn 36 years in October this year, and not 34, according to Wikipedia.

If that should happen, then the question is: “Has Shatta Wale been telling lies about his age all this while?”

Mr. Charles Nii Amarh Mensah, who bears a striking resemblance with his son, has reportedly written to the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) to investigate the prophet who has claimed that there his a death sentence hanging over his son.
